Why is "July 1" the anniversary of the birth of the Communist Party of China?

The anniversary of the birth of the party on July 1 was proposed by Mao Zedong in May 1938. At that time, Mao Zedong put forward in his article on protracted War: "July 1 this year is the 17th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China." This is the first time that a leading comrade of the central government has clearly stated that "July 1" is the anniversary of the birth of the party.

At that time, Mao Zedong and Dong Biwu were the only founders of the party that had participated in a major congress in Yan'an. They recalled that the first big meeting was held in July, but they could not remember the exact date of the meeting. Due to the lack of archival materials, it was impossible to verify at the moment, so July 1 was designated as the anniversary of the birth of the party.

The name of the Communist Party of China, do you know?

In August 1920, Chen Duxiu initiated the establishment of the first early organization of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai. On September 1, 1920, Chen Duxiu once called "our party" as "socialist party" in his article "my opinion on the current situation" published by new youth, and later changed it to "Communist Party".

Cai Hesen was the first to put forward the name "Communist Party of China. On August 13 and September 16, 1920, he was studying in France for a work-study program. In two letters to Mao Zedong, he discussed the issue of the Communist Party in detail and proposed: "We must first organize the party-the Communist Party, because it is the revolution. The initiator, propagandist, vanguard, and combat department of the movement." On the basis of his inspection of the Communist Parties of Western European countries, especially the Russian Communist Party, he put forward specific steps for party building, including "blatantly and formally establishing a Communist Party of China".

Before and after this, Chen Duxiu was in Shanghai, Li Dazhao and Zhang Shenfu also discussed the name of the party through letters in Beijing, and decided to adopt the "Communist Party" as the name of the Chinese proletarian party.

2. Local Party Organizations

Refers to the Party Congress of the provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. they elect party committees and discipline inspection commissions at the same level. Like the procedure of the Central Committee, the party committee elects local standing committees, secretaries, deputy secretaries, etc., and reports them to the Party Central Committee for approval.

3. The Party's grass-roots organizations

It refers to the party branches and general party branches that can be seen everywhere in enterprises, institutions, schools and other places. According to the provisions of the party constitution, as long as there are more than three formal party members, it is necessary to establish the party's grass-roots organizations. The leadership of the party branch and the general party branch must also be submitted to the higher party organization for approval after the election.
